Assisting newcomers with integration into the labor market: that sounds like a costly job. But what does it actually deliver? In other words, what is the actual impact of interventions such as those of NewBees? NewBees and the municipality of Zaanstad asked the Impact Institute to investigate this.
Curious about the results of the research? You can download it below.
NewBees works towards an inclusive society. We aim to have a positive impact on newcomers, municipalities and society as a whole. Not only on their financial situation, but also on individual well-being and social cohesion.
Since our start in 2016, we have established about 600 successful matches. And we have helped almost 500 newcomers on their way in Dutch society. That all started in Zaanstad and we have now joined forces with the municipality of Zaanstad to measure the impact of all those matches.
From the research:
“The integration of newcomers into society is a relevant societal challenge. Implementing effective policies has proven to be complex. Acquiring more insight into NewBees’ impact shows that NewBees’ approach can help tackle this challenge.
The impact analysis shows that NewBees’ approach creates strong value for society by helping newcomers become part of Dutch society through actively matching them with traineeships. The total value of the analyzed impacts from the activities of NewBees in Zaanstad is estimated to be more than 1 million euro.”
